Why the Starfish?

Inspired by Loren Eiseley’s story of the boy who threw starfish back into the sea, our logo is a reminder that small acts of care can make a big difference. Each action matters. Each person matters.

What is a Suicide Prevention Network?

A Suicide Prevention Network is a community-driven group focused on grassroots initiatives to reduce suicide and support those affected.

Research from the University of Melbourne shows these Networks can reduce suicide rates significantly while increasing community awareness, confidence to help, access to support services, and reducing stigma.

Here in Collie, our Network was developed with support from Wesley Mission and is made up of local community members and stakeholders working together to make a difference.
